One-time setup: paste your Google Maps API key

Quote King needs a Google Maps JavaScript API key to load real satellite imagery. Your key stays in this browser only (localStorage). In production, we restrict the key to quote-king.com so it can't be abused.

  1. Go to Google Cloud → Maps APIs.
  2. Enable Maps JavaScript API, Places API, Geocoding API, and Maps Drawing Tools.
  3. Create a Browser key (APIs & Services → Credentials). Restrict it to your domain + localhost.
  4. Paste the key below.

We store the key with localStorage.setItem('gmaps_key', ...). Clear browser data to forget it.

Tip: use the zoom controls bottom-right. Click to place vertices. Double-click to finish a polygon.

Accuracy note: Satellite measurements are ±3–5% on flat surfaces, ±4–6% on pitched roofs (when you input pitch), and ±8–15% on roofs without pitch. For jobs over $1,000 we recommend a site verification. Calibrate against a known object on the property for best accuracy.
